huge t-bone steak at Katherine Country Club
First stop was Pine Creek, an old gold mining town, and the on to Edith Falls. The car park is close to the lake at bottom of falls which are pretty. The campgrounds at Edith Falls looked like a good place to stay overnight. Did a walk to the top pool of Edith Falls and enjoyed a refreshing dip. These falls cascade down three levels and the views into the gorge are stunning. On to Katherine (Birthplace of Cadel Evans) and after shopping for food and groceries (and grog – with photo ID) we ended up at the Country (Golf) Club for dinner. T-bone steak was massive. Lots of Aborigines wandering around and drinking in public areas. The tourist park at Springvale Homestead was pretty basic and we had no power, but there was Wi-Fi access at the kiosk.
